A busy Forestville roadway dotted with homes, a rodeo and a canoe adventure company, could be traversed only by boat on Wednesday after a 48-hour storm left parts of the North Bay partially underwater.
Forestville, a small Sonoma County town about 13 miles west of Santa Rosa, sits along the Russian River, which continues to swell over its banks.
Drone footage captured by the San Francisco Chronicle showed stretches along Maribel and River Roads completely flooded. Cars were underwater and houses partially submerged. The only sign of life was the Forestville Fire Department, traversing the muddy brown waters by boat.
